A New Week

So it has been almost a week since Thanksgiving. We spent Thanksgiving with my husband Phil's family. We had a total of 17 people in our house (including the five of us). Wow! All in all, I think it went well. The food was excellent. Phil and I worked together to cook and prepare turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, dinner rolls (from Costco - we cheated), olives, gravy (Costco again) and green salad. We had many pies and Phil's mom brought her famous "Lazy Daisy Oatmeal Cake." The kid cousins had a blast playing who knows what, and Phil and his brothers had a great time visiting. I am glad everyone got to come, even Phil's grandma Mildred ("Nanny").

Last week was nonstop preparation for Thanksgiving and then the days after we just sort of recuperated from all the stress of putting on a big dinner. I had everyone cleaning, putting stuff away, etc. The house was beautiful when we were finished.

This week there are no plans. None. Nothing in the planner. I repeat this because with 3 kids, 2 dogs, and a husband, usually there is at least something going on. Nope. I get to relax. Ok, I still have to do laundry and make dinner and get Emily to ballet, but other than that, my time is free. I plan on doing some scrapbooking. I am horribly behind and need to catch up.

I also need to catch up on my Bible study. I am two weeks behind in that and if you have ever done a "Beth Moore" study, you know that means a bit of homework! I am looking forward to catching up on that; bible study is always good, refreshing, and this one is especially encouraging. The study is about praying God's Word, and it just reminds me of how powerful our God is and how He loves us so much!

I am getting excited thinking about Bible study and scrapbooking, so enough of the blog for today. Besides, I am pretty sure I went over on my one-minute limitation... Ooops!

Newsboys Million Little Pieces

WooHoo - My First Post

Here it is, my first post. Ok, I have read other's posts and web-blogging seemed a little overwhelming to me. I am not a writer, but I do want to record bits and pieces of my life. So I have decided to go ahead with a blog that I will post to in which the readings will only take a minute. Ah, that's why I chose the "just a minute - ok" name for my blog. Because I hear myself say that to my kids constantly... And all my posts will only take a minute to read! Am I clever or what?
